I was born on November 6th, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York. At age 15, I received my first camera and fell in love with photography. When I was 16, my family built me a darkroom where I learned how to roll, develope and experiement with different films and made black and white prints with the encouragement of my family.
I attended the State University at Oswego, New York, where I received a B.S. degree in Elementary in 1975. It was in Oswego where I fell in love with finding natural line in nature to photograph.
For the next 26 years I did my photography while employed in corporate america. After 9/11, I was faced with downsizing and decided to dedicate myself to photography full time. I started taking food images for Shapiro & Zarikian, Inc., a restaurant Public Relations company and for Selecta Magazine's food section. In 2003, I was awarded my first magazine cover for Where Miami Magazine and my work was on exhibition at the Miami Art Gallery in the Miami Design District.
My work has appeared in Food and Wine, Wine Spector, Food Arts, Ocean Drive, USA Today, New York Times Magazine, Eloite Traveler, Dinning Out, The Miami Herald, Newsday, Gotham, GQ-UK and photo credits in the South Beach Diet Book and Spain Chic. I still continue to shoot Food Photography as well as working on my Photographic Art work.
I love to find natural lines in nature as well as images that have eye appeal. I still take images for my own pleasure but now I use photoshop instead of the darkroom to create different forms of Photographic Art.
